The Sub-Mariner video review

Hey! I was up late on Friday night and got a good second wind and then decided to stay up all night and write, film and edit a video review!

I hope you all enjoy!

Try and guess what side of my face is puffed up from having a tooth removed.

  1. Wow. I have never seen you so worked up about plot inconsistencies and illogical faux pas in one of these shows before. This Sub-Mariner show really got you angry. Maybe that is why I have heard of Aqua Man, but never heard of the Sub-Mariner. Hmmm... Well, as you point out, most of the dangers faced in this episode, are not really dangers at all if one is under water. Makes me think maybe all of civilization should just live under water to permanently avoid all these many things which now imperil us. Or perhaps just fill the entire world with water.. That would eliminate most of the dangers of life...welll, except drowning.

    1. Yeah I was angrier this review then most! What can I say, when the danger faced is mostly forgetting your underwater I get inraged! Maybe the polar ice caps will melt and we'll all be underwater!
Whats that song from the little mermaid: things are better under the sea!

  3. LOL that was pretty bad looking, I'm usually a marvel guy but I'm some glad I never watched that. Loved the "what the fuck" the most, that was great. Word! Maybe they truly did just want to help the hearing impaired.

It's the left side that's puffed, right?

    1. I too am a Marvel guy. I never thought of that! Maybe this was the hearing impared version of the show!

      Yep left side!

  4. Those old cartoons were so lazy, I loved your examples. Maybe these are like the new Marvel Motion Comics that take a pre-existing comic and attempt to animate it without putting much work into it? There were so many WHAT THE FUCK moments in your review it became a drinking game for me. Yes, it is only 10 AM.

    1. Yeah Marvels always wanted to brigde the gap between comic and cartoon with motion comics. Good idea with the drinking game but I think most people would get drunk way to fast! (even for a drinking game!)

  5. I don't recall ever seeing this show. Looks like I wasn't missing much. As a kid, I'm sure I would still be like WHAT THE FUCK!?

Well your whole face is kinda puffy but clearly the left side is puffier than the right. LOL Don't take it so hard...just messing with ya!

  6. That's hilarious that both of them are the king of the same thing, I have to admit that Sub Mariner is probably one of my least favourite Marvel heroes although Aqua Man is a joke character in my opinion. The laser guns that shoot out pow and the cannons that shoot out boom thing cracked me up!

The thing about the iron bell at the end killed me mate, awesome stuff.

    1. There kings of hte same thing in different "universes". Marvel comics and DC comics also both have thunder gods named Thor! The two comic companies have been ripping eachother off since the sixtys! Glad you enjoyed the review!

  7. Were you lip syncing to yourself at the beginning? I think it's your left tooth that was pulled! They must have had a low budget or lazy animators working on this, because this was so cheap and chintzy and not in a good cheesy way. I liked the bit about the fish binary code and the colors on those fish! Acid kool-aid trip colors!! Bells do not ring underwater!!

    1. Yep I was lipsyncing to myself in the begining so I could act more like the animation! Yep its the tooth at the back top left side! Yeah they were very lazy with the animation! More so because they make so many shows in so little time! (I guess for them quantity over quality!) I forgot to point out the colours of the fish! good catch! the fishes colours are quite silly! Maybe theres acid floating in the sea!

  8. I've missed you dude. I don't know how I got by without your ranting. Plus that is some seriously lazy animation. I guess Spidey was the only one they actually cared about and even then they did it half assed by reusing the same bits over and over again. Especially web travel.

    1. Yep they certailly repeated that web travel!

  9. I don't know how you sit through these. I think if not for your being able to rant to us openly, there'd be nothing stopping you from setting those cartoons on fire.

  11. dude, I love Namor. He's one of my favorite Marvel characters behind THOR. Golden Age Namor was one of the first super heroes ever and the original star of the Marvel Universe before it was even called the Marvel Universe. Silver Age Namor is my favorite though...he's such a douche bag it's awesome. The way he tries to rape Invisible Woman every 5 seconds and loses his temper, he'll attack someone (like say, The Hulk) even though he has zero chance of winning and doesn't care because he's bat shit insane half the time.

Also, I remember seeing that VHS box in my closet waaaaaaay back in the day also!

    1. I love/hate Namor! One of my favourite silver age comics is the Fantastic Four issue where the Fantastic Four goes bankrupt and Namor (using gold from the ocean floor) helps them out finatually and secretly trys to kill them and win over the Invisible girl! And he fails to win her over simply because he trys the kill the other members of the FF! He's so dumb, but so cool all at once!
